My husband and I teamed up to convert this late 19th Century family heirloom piano into a desk for a client.

The lid can fold back if the candles are in use.
We changed out part of the original lid with the fallboard so that the original brass lettering stating the piano make (A Bord), location (Paris) and date (1878) could remain.

This piano was a wedding gift for my 90-year-old client's great grandparents in 1875 but it had a cracked plate and needed major restoration work..
The client was so pleased with the result. On this conversion, it worked best to keep the fallboard separate but gave it back to the client so they can display it on top if they desire.
